April 20, 2010. Northwestern University's Center for Global Health, along with three other Chicago medical institutions, has been awarded the GLOBAL HUMANITARIAN AWARD by the Institute of Medicine of Chicago (IOMC).  This award recognized the four institutions' collaboration and dedication to assisting the people of Haiti after the devastating earthquake.  The Center for Global Health is honored to accept this award on behalf of the university.  This was possible because of the generous support of the Northwestern community and volunteers who went to Haiti.
